SEBORRHEA - DERMATITIS

Seborrhea Dermatitis is an inflammatory scaling disease of the skin. The cause is unknown, but genetics are reported to have a lot to do with the disease. The onset can happen from infants to seniors. Usually onset in adults is gradual. It is scaly dry or a greasy feel to the skin. In severe cases, red-yellow patches and bumps can appear. The hairline behind the ears, inside the ears, the chest, eyebrows and nose are favorite targets. Medical treatments consist of shampoos, which have Selsium Sulfide, Tar and Salicylic acid are used. Topical Cortisone in creams and sprays in solutions are also used.
